Stretch Therapy is the scientific application of techniques to treat certain physical problems associated with tight muscles and restricted joints. When performed properly, stretch therapy can help prevent injuries and improve performance.

How It Works

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) is a stretching technique utilized to improve muscle elasticity and has been shown to have a positive effect on active and passive range of motions. There are multiple PNF stretching techniques including the contract-relax method. This involves stretching the targeted muscle(s) for 10-20 seconds, having the client contract against resistance for 5 seconds, then relaxing into a deeper stretch for 20-30 seconds. The process is often repeated 2-3 times for each stretch.
